World Supersport: Wet weather determines all in Supersport practice
Atrociously wet weather conditions made early qualifying a miserable experience for most on the first day at Donington Park, with Broc Parkes (Yamaha World Supersport Team) finishing 29th. Parkes has not had much previous experience of Donington Park, having fallen early and broken his collarbone in 2007, and finding the circuit wet from first to last on day one.

World Superbike: Corser and Haga see out the first day
Troy Corser (Yamaha Motor Italia WSB Team) and Noriyuki Haga (Yamaha Motor Italia WSB Team) negotiated the first day of practice at a soaking wet Donington Park largely to evaluate their wet weather settings, with varying degrees of success.

MX2-GP: Larrieu completes potent Yamaha Ricci Racing team for 2009
Yamaha Ricci Racing will have their 2009 FIM MX2-GP World Championship line-up bolstered by the addition of talented youngster Loic Larrieu next season. The 17 year old Frenchman (18 before the start of the `09 campaign) has signed to compete alongside countryman Nicolas Aubin and Italian Davide Guarneri on YZ250F machinery for the Italian crew.

World Superbike: Yamaha riders aim for victory at favoured venue
As the five-week summer break in the World Superbike Championship calendar comes to an end this coming weekend at Donington Park, Noriyuki Haga and Troy Corser (Yamaha Motor Italia WSB Team) will each have particularly good recent memories to draw on. Haga won race two at this classic venue last year and Corser scored a double podium, each riding for the current Yamaha squad.

MX1-GP: Fourth position for Philippaerts in Ireland
Yamaha Monster Motocross Team`s David Philippaerts still leads the 2008 FIM MX1-GP World Championship after finishing in 4th position overall under decent weather conditions at the new Fairyhouse circuit for the Grand Prix of Ireland and the thirteenth round of fifteen.

Valentino Rossi reached another milestone in his outstanding career today by matching the all-time premier-class win record. His 68th premier-class victory brings him level with his great countryman Giacomo Agostini and the fact that he was able to do it at his home track of Misano made it all the more special for the flamboyant Italian. His Fiat Yamaha team-mate Jorge Lorenzo put the icing on the cake for Yamaha with an impressive return to the podium to make it the second one-two finish for the team this season.

MotoGP: Fiat Yamaha team take title challenge home to Misano
The Fiat Yamaha Team contest their second ‘home` race of the season this weekend, with the San Marino Grand Prix taking place on Italian soil at the Misano circuit on the Adriatic coast. The trip is a short one for the team, whose base is just 300km away in Milan, but even shorter for Valentino Rossi, with his hometown of Tavullia located a mere 15km down the road.
